Friday, October 23: a corn maze after dark, then band night on Perry Street

The weekend's best night out starts about 10 minutes north of town. Cooper's Farm at 266 Ashworth Road in Zephyr runs its Friday Night Maze Walk on October 23 from 7 to 10 p.m., with check-in beginning around 6:30. The farm reopens its 10-acre corn maze after dark for a slower walk through the stalks, and this is one of the last Friday-night maze nights before the Halloween Maze takes over on October 31. Tickets are sold online or at the gate with capacity capped per time slot. Full details are on the farm's 10-acre corn maze page.

Back in town, Old Flame Brewing Co. at 135 Perry Street hosts Band Night from 7 to 10 p.m. on October 23, a rotating band in the taproom of the 1874 Ontario Carriage Works building. Dinner stays on Queen Street: Marwan's Global Bistro at 187 Queen Street or Saffron Eatery for a quick, flavourful meal, or a calmer seat at the Piano Cafe and George Stanley Inn at 217 Queen Street, inside a restored 1884 landmark. Our guide to the best restaurants in Port Perry maps the whole main-street eating strip.
